- Mouse feet are pads, dots, or stickers attached to the underside of the mouse. They prevent direct contact between the underside of the mouse and the surface or contact surface of the mouse pad. In addition, mouse feet have the property of reducing friction during movement. To put it simply, mouse feet are like shoes. Normally, people wear shoes to prevent dangers from contact with various surfaces or foot pain from walking. There are many types of shoes. The choice of shoes depends on the purpose and suitability of the wearer. No one wants to bring their school shoes to run a full marathon or walk in the snow, right? (Or maybe there is, lol) Therefore, we should choose mouse feet that are appropriate for the use, just like we choose shoes that are appropriate for the situation.
- The actual theoretical answer is that it can be used, but it is not very appropriate. Because the distance that the mouse sensor can still detect the surface, or the so-called Lift of distance (LOD), will have the lowest value. If used in real use, your mouse pad and the area under the mouse may be damaged. This is because the plastic under the mouse will scrape and rub directly against the surface of the mouse pad. Therefore, it can be concluded that every mouse on the market is equipped with mouse feet ready for use. But the main thing is to prevent friction between the plastic under the mouse and the mouse pad. In addition, most people nowadays can also take advantage of the reduction of friction from different materials in Aftermarket mouse feet, such as glass / PTFE / Black PTFE / Virgin PTFE / Ceramic / Steel or Sapphire, etc. The Aftermarket mouse feet of each model and each brand will have different speeds.
- We currently have 7 mouse feet available: Corepad CTRL / Corepad PRO / Corepad AIR / Tiger Arc 1 / Tiger Arc 2 / Tiger ICE / Superglide. We have collected popular and recognized mouse feet from all over the world and brought them to MICEMOD!
It is a mouse pad that has a manufacturing process without a surface coating (Uncoated) which is a mouse pad made of raw fabric fibers. Therefore, the long-term use life will be longer than the mouse pad that is produced with a surface coating. Because normally, the production of general mouse pads in the market uses a surface coating in the production for the best experience and feeling of use in the beginning (average 1-2 weeks), which users often perceive the smooth surface and smoothness in dragging and using the mouse. But after 1-2 weeks, the feeling of use and speed of the mouse pad that uses a coating (Coated) will change completely. Which is a problem for everyone who uses a mouse pad with a coating (Coated) You will feel the change in the speed of each surface area will change and be uneven (or what is called a mouse pad friction). Also, if you use it in a room with a high temperature or a room with a fan, you will feel that the mouse pad has a slower speed than usual. And when you use it in a room with a low temperature or an air-conditioned room, you will feel that the mouse pad has a faster speed than usual. Therefore, at present, modern brands have started to produce mouse pads without coating (Uncoated) to solve this problem.
- Better in that the speed of the uncoated mouse pad will not change according to humidity and temperature. And although sweat affects the usage, it can be washed. Because washing the uncoated mouse pad has only a slight effect on the usage. Which is different from general coated mouse pads. If washed and cleaned, the coating will come off. Resulting in inconsistent speed throughout the pad And the efficiency may decrease as a result.
- All mouse pads sold at MICEMOD are non-coating mouse pads, including brands such as Artisan / Odin Gaming / Padsmith / Gamesense / X-raypad (AC II,AC+) / XTEN, etc.
If you want to wash an uncoated mouse pad, we recommend using mild hand washing foam or baby soap mixed with warm water to wash (do not use a hard brush and do not put it in a washing machine to clean). It is recommended to use your palms to rub the entire surface instead of using a brush. Then, let it dry or air dry at room temperature (do not expose it to sunlight as it will deteriorate the rubber base of the mouse pad before its lifespan). After that, lay a towel on the floor and place the mouse pad on top. Then wait for it to dry completely at room temperature. When the mouse pad is dry, it can be used as usual. **The speed from the first wash will change slightly. Then, in the next wash, the speed of the mouse pad will remain the same.
